Librarian's note: “What a treasure it is to hold this piece of pure girlhood, sisterhood & creativity- a travel diary created by the original 'it girl' sisters as young women, long before Vogue & the white house and later published as-is for the world to see. What an extraordinary life. A cherished find!” - Martina
The original It girl sisters, Jacqueline Bouvier (later First Lady Jackie O) and Lee Bouvier, created this rare and whimsical book as teenagers. In 1951, they documented their first European adventure in a whimsical, intimate travel diary- filled with Jackie’s illustrations and the sisters’ witty notes- as a gift to their parents. Decades later, the diary was rediscovered and published in a strictly limited edition of just 500 copies, preserved exactly as it was originally written. To hold it is to glimpse Jackie before her Vogue years, before the White House- an intimate, luminous piece of girlhood and history that feels ever so special.
"One Special Summer" by Jaqueline and Lee Bouvier is a 1974 first edition hardcover book published by Delacorte Press in New York. The book falls under the genre of biography and autobiography, reflecting the authors' personal experiences and insights. This original publication includes a dust jacket and is written in English, making it a valuable collectible for fans of North American literature and the Bouvier family.
Some tears to Dust Jacket, but, the First Edition book of 70 pages is very good.
